Forced Perspective
research: this picture kind of gives me an idea of what I wanted for my personal picture. But what I will do instead of using the foot is that I will use a hand to try and make a picture that looks like someone is getting squished by a giant hand.
research: This picture also helps me think of a picture just like the other picture. I liked this picture but I don’t want to use this exact same picture so I thought of the hand over instead of under.

Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create this image? I originally had another photo but it got deleted as so that pushed me back a few days. Then once I took the picture and came back to class to import it I realized that the picture wasn’t as good as I wanted but because I was behind I had too try and fix it as much as I could by editing the picture.
What specific photos you found online inspired you to make this sequence? The pictures that inspired me I put them on the top of the blog and I talked about why they inspired them.

Cinemagraph
- pre production
- Plan out your shot – What part of your cinemagraph to do you want to have moving? What part do you want to have be still? The basketball will be spinning on my finger which will be moving and my body is going to stay still.
- What role will light play in your cinemagraph? I don’t believe that light will play much of a roll in terms of how I want to make the video look.
- What sort of mood do you want to give off? I’m not sure as exactly to what kind of mood I what to give. But i’m sure that as along the way I will think of something.

Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create this image? What did you do for pre-production? What did you do for production? Originally I had save it to the wrong folder because I had to import the video quickly before class was over and so that took so time to find it and to be able to import into Photoshop. Then once it was imported Erick helped me because he had just finished his.
Which online examples inspired you to make this sequence? Please include these in your visual journal. I didn’t have any thing that inspired me. I was just looking at pictures online about basketball and I was like what if I did some sort of thing where the ball would be spinning on a finger.
How did the sketch of your Cinemagraph differ from the final version?
I already knew what I wanted to do as soon as I started so my picture really didn’t change that much if at all.

What would you do differently if you could do it all again?
I would finish this much sooner so that i’m not behind and so that I can have more time to take and edit the video more so that instead of rushing to just get it turned in.
What are you most proud of?
I was the most proud of how I was still able to turn in and finish the video even tho that I knew that It was going to be late. also for how much work it took to get it right.
High & Low Key Lighting
pre-production
research and find an example of both high key and low key images that resonate with you in some way.

resonate with you in some way. Obviously because I play basketball

For your pre-reflection, tell me in as many words as possible how you plan on shooting this image. Describe everything you see in your head. Include the Lighting Diagram in this reflection. I plan on doing something similar as to what Mr. strong (you) did where you showed the whole class where that one kid was sitting down and you took but i’m not quiet sure as of right now.

REFLECTION
Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create these images? What did you do for pre-production? What did you do for production? It was kind of hard to do this one because we had a sub for a couple of days and we weren’t able to use the cameras. then when Mr.Strong came back we needed help on creating an image because we didn’t necessarily know what we were doing. So with adding all up it took longer than I would have liked it to be.
What role did Rembrandt Lighting play in your creation of these images? It was kind of hard to use in the beginning. I tried to use it but I wasn’t sure if I used it right.
What lighting type did you use for your final images? I and people I was working with did both high key and low key.
What role did lighting ratios play in your final images? What role did props play in the creation of your final images. Some props that I had where the basketball but in those pictures I didn’t have it showing
Explain how you were able to create a specific mood with lighting? What would this image look like if it were lit differently? Would the emotion change? What role did lighting ratios play in your final images? How did Strong’s demonstration help you in creating mood lighting ? How well do your final images reflect the specific emotion? What could you have done to make sure that the viewer gets the specific emotion without reading the word? I would say that the mood/emotion would change depending on how dark and bright the image was.
Which online examples inspired you to make this sequence? Please include these in your visual journal. Their wasn’t really online examples that inspired me but what inspired me was the example that you showed during class that pretty much gave me an idea of what I wanted to do.
How did making the lighting diagrams help you in creating your final high and low key images? It really didn’t help you because I really didn’t know what I was doing and how it was suppose to help me but what did help me was the demonstration that you gave us in class.
What did you learn about off camera flash as a result of working on this project? Do you think your image tells a good story? I’m not quiet sure that it does. But that’s something that i’m working on to improve my pictures.
What would you do differently if you could do it all again? I’n not exactly sure of what I would change but I know i’m behind in work but other then that i’m ok.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of how I was able to learn and work together with my partners to figure out how to make the high key and low key pictures. It is a lot different from taking just a regular picture it takes more work/time.
Mood with Emotion

Write a reflection where you come up with a plan of how you will shoot these images. Include as many details as possible. Things to talk about here include: Who will be in the image, how will you pose them, what sort of lighting technique will you use, (we will learn about several this week) what lighting equipment will you need, and what props will you bring in to make this image truly match the mood/emotion you are going for.
first I am going to pick out a camera that I like. then i will go with Erick and I will go to the studio. I will arrange the room to were i can get the right curt behind the person in the photo. the I will use a tripod and the place the camera on it. Then I will use and try new ISO and things on the camera to make the picture look the way that I want. I was planning on take my pictures in the studio. The lighting in the studio is pretty good for the type of pictures that I was wanting to take (high key, low key) images. I will have Erick and Daxten in my pictures. Erick will be in the low key image, Daxten will be in the high key image. For the low key image I have Erick try and show a felling that shows devastated. For the high key image I will have Daxten try and show joyful. For the low key image the lighting will have a lot to do in order for the image to actually show someone being devastated. For the high key the lighting is a little easier on that.

Step 3 – Critique: We will switch places with another student and you will comment on one of their photos.
Maybe needs higher exposure and move the table from the picture – erick

Photo Diary

In this picture I had a similar felling in as the last picture.

Final Reflection: Photo Diary Project
Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create these images? This project was a little bit harder then the other projects because I wasn’t very sure of what I wanted to take a picture of. Then as I was walking around with Erick I started to think of pictures that I could take. It was also a little harder because when I usually take pictures I just take them to do an assignment I don’t take them so show emotion or to try and show something but in these I had to try and explain my emotion with the pictures.
How were you able to capture the emotions you were feeling each day? I just thought about how I was feeling that specific day and took a picture that I thought would help me capture what I emotions I felt that particular day.
How close did you get to capturing the emotions you felt in your photographs? On a scale from 1-10 I feel maybe like a 6 or 7 the reason I say that was because I felt like I could take better pictures that what I have right but for the most part I felt that I did alright.
Did the emotions you were feeling stay the same, or were they different each day? I think for the most part they were the same but they of course changed a little. I think something that kept me in s good mood was that the weather was pretty nice.
Do you see a progression in these photographs? I’m not sure if you were asking about like progression as in the pictures got better as I went along. But if so I don’t really think that they got better they pretty much stayed the same.
How do the photos change from the first image to the last? Is there a story to it, it’s ok if there isn’t. I wasn’t really going for a story so no I don’t think that their is a story.
What patterns do you see emerge as a series of photographs? I personally didn’t see any patterns in the images other then them some of them looking similar.
Is there a pattern or are the photos random? How similar/dissimilar is the editing in these photographs? The pattern of the photos was random. The editing was also kind of random
Explain how you were able to enhance the mood of the photographs with Photoshop or lightroom? I was able to change the brightness to make the pictures either looks better or to try and explain the mood I was trying to express.
How did Strong’s examples help you in creating the imagery? Yes they kind of helped me when I was thinking of pictures to take but except I took my pictures at school which I think is a little harder for this project instead of taking them when I was outside of school.
How well do your final images reflect the specific emotion? I don’t think that they reflect my emotions that well but I feel like they do a little bit.
What could you have done to make sure that the viewer gets the specific emotion without reading the word?
become a little bit more creative with my photos so that someone that was looking at my picture could better understand my emotions.
What did you learn about the art of taking pictures as a result of working on this project? Do you think your photo series a good story? I learned that taking photos is more serious to others. Fore example I am not that serious on taking pictures but other people really try and do a perfect job and then get paid for it. No not really.
What would you do differently if you could do it all again?
I would finish this much sooner so that i’m not behind and so that I can have more time to take and edit the pictures more instead of rushing to just get it turned in.
What are you most proud of?
I was the most proud of how I was still able to turn in the pictures and my blog even tho that I knew that It was going to be late. also for how much work it took to think of a picture that I could take that would capture my emotions at that particular time of day.
Double Exposure with Metaphor

For this picture I was looking at some of the examples on your blog and I decided that I would like to try and add image of something basketball related.

For this picture I saw a picture an image online and wanted to draw something similar to that.

Final Reflection: Double Exposure with Metaphor
Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create these images? It took a little longer to do then I wanted but at least I finished it. It took me a little while to understand how to make the image that I wanted. But when I first started I originally thought that I could just take a picture of my self and then be able to use the photo from google but then I figured out that I wasn’t going to be able to do that. so then I had to look for pictures on my phone and it took me a while to find a picture that I wanted but I found the one in the picture above.
How were you able to assign a metaphor to the person you photographed? I think that I was able to assign the metaphor by kind of know what I wanted to do and planning out before hand.
What was the experience of using the tutorials? Did you search until you found one that fit your abilities? The experience was good I was able to understand and do what the video said to do and also Erick already knew a little on how to do it so he was able to help me. I didn’t keep searching for videos the one that was on your blog was fine.
How close did you get to capturing the essence of the person you photographed? On a scale from 1 – 5. I would say that I would give my self a 2 or a 3.
Explain how you were able to enhance the mood of the photographs with Photoshop or lightroom? I think that I was able to enhance by changing the lighting of then image and make it black and grey and then have a bright picture and combine the too.
How well do your final images reflect the specific metaphor? What could you have done to make sure that the viewer gets the specific metaphor without reading the word? I think that My final picture somewhat reflects the specific metaphor but I no that there is still some work that I could have done that help reflect it more. I’m not sure about that one.
What did you learn about the art of taking pictures as a result of working on this project? I learned that you can combine to random pictures and some how still make an image and that how much work certain assignments take compared to others.
Do you think your photo tells a good story? My picture isn’t really telling a story to me it just looks like a nice picture.
What would you do differently if you could do it all again?
I would finish this much sooner so that i’m not behind and so that I can have more time to take and edit the pictures more instead of rushing to just get it turned in which then I could have made it look better.
What are you most proud of? I am most of how it came out I think it looks pretty cool and It also took a lot of work to make it look the way that I wanted it to look.
Multi-Media
Pre- Production
How will visual effects, or props affect the visual image? Basketball will be the prop that I will be using.
What sort of a mood do you want to create with this portrait? The mood that I want for this is happy.
How will you capture the essence of this person? while Playing basketball

Questions:
1. why out of all the sports do you play football/ basketball
2.How does football effect your everyday life.
3. What are you doing to better yourself on the football field.
4. what position do you play and why.
5. will you continue playing football after high school if possible. if so where
Final Reflection
Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create your portrait image? It went well pretty well I thought it was gonna take a lot longer but it went well. It actually wasn’t that bad it was a little easier then I thought but I also did ask for a lot of help. once I understood what I was doing it became easier.
How did you incorporate aspects of the subject’s personality into the photograph? I tried to talk about the person’s hobbies and tried to ask them about them. I also tried to capture with the pictures that I took.
How did you select the questions for the interview? I thought about what I wanted to and what I wanted them to talk about in the interview. I pretty much based it of that and went from their.
What was the process like of listening to the audio and choosing which pictures to make based on that interview? thinking of questions to ask Erick was easy along with taking the pictures. The harder part was trying to get the images to the right size. for me sense I have an android it was harder to upload the interview but Erick was able to help me with that and I really did need to edit the video.
Do you feel like the other photos in the slideshow also capture the essence of the person you photographed? Yes I do. The reason that I say yes is because Erick plays football and I tried to incorporate something that has to do with playing football.
What was your experience like working in Adobe Premiere? it was pretty good. It took a little longer to get to know how to use it. But other then that it was fine.
What did you learn about the art of taking pictures as a result of working on this project? I’m not sure but something that I learned was how you can take a couple of pictures and interview someone and how those two things can make a pretty cool video on YouTube. I also learned on the amount of work that it takes to edit a video to get it to the way that you want it to be. good thing I don’t have to do that often.
Do you think your photo tells a good story? I think that they don’t really tell a story if they do it’s not very good but I think it talks more about the experiences that person has had.
What would you do differently if you could do it all again? I really wouldn’t change anything. But if I had to change something I would change the time of year that I finished this assignment.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of how much work it took to finish this assignment and how I’ve been able to try and catch up on my work.
Complementary Colors
. I can research the way other photographers have photographed complementary colors.

I like the way that this looks. I’m going try and do something similar to this.

Picture was taken off a boat.

Final Reflection:
Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create these images? I was originally starting the multi-media assignment but as i went along I wanted to interview Erick but he was busy doing the complementary assignment so instead of waiting for him to finish I decided to do it as well so that way I could do something to catch up while I was waiting. But as far as taking the pictures I already has some on my phone The first one was taken while I was camping. I was up on a hill. The second one was taken of a boat in San Francisco. The picture is of the Alcatraz island.
How did you incorporate the two complementary color into your photos? I choose a color inside the picture. then I went to the website as found out what the complementary color for the color that I choose.
What blending methods did you use in Photoshop? What did the addition of complementary colors do for your images? I used the gradient blend the complementary colors, then make an overlay layer that gave the image some sort of cool effect without changing the way the picture looked completely.
What moods or emotions stood out as a result of enhancing the complementary colors? They both to me looked relaxing or calming at first. after the pop out way more and don’t look as good. The look like when you are watching a 3D movie without the glasses.
Explain how you were able to enhance the mood of the photographs with Photoshop or Lightroom? i raised edited the pictures in lightroom before I exported them into Photoshop to make they look the way that I wanted them too.
How well do your final images show the complementary colors? I think for the most part the are shown well in my pictures. But I know that it could be better.
What did you learn about color theory as a result of working on this project?I learned that complementary colors are on the opposite end of the color wheel directly across the other side.
Do you think your photos tell a good story?Yes i believe that my pictures tell a story. Nature has a certain way that it looks that can tell some great stories.
What would you do differently if you could do it all again? I like how it turned out. I wouldn’t change much.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of how it came out I think it looks pretty cool. it took a little longer then I would have wanted but it’s fine.
Juxtaposition Diptych
Pre-Production: Look for inspiration photos

I am going to do something similar to this but instead of doing that exact photo i’m going to have it be one a picture of snow and the other of grass.

I am going to try and do something similar to this but not sure exactly yet still thinking.

Describe the process, or workflow, you went through to create these images? I wasn’t originally planing and doing this for this week I was planning on doing the multi media assignment. But decided to do this instead and to try to finish this as soon as I could to finish my other assignments. It took me a while to try and think of something to do I had to look online for examples but I couldn’t find many that I could take. But once I thought of the ideas for my pictures it was pretty easy from there. Erick was able to help me with this as well because he was doing this assignment as well.
How did the similarities and or differences between your two subjects inform how you were able to shoot and edit the photos? I tried to take picture from like a similar view point. I also tried to edit them to make them look better so that they would pop out a little.
Do the two things have more in common or more differences. Is the viewer able to discern what the differences or similarities are without explanation? the first one is just regular old grass and then the other one is grass/dirt mixed together. The second one is some water and dirt which i guess could be similar.
How did you use the principles and elements to show the differences or similarities (think scale, contrast, pattern, framing, line, etc.) I’m not sure about this one. I think I used pattern or maybe line but not totally sure about this one.
Explain how you were able to enhance the mood of the photographs with Photoshop or Lightroom? I adjusted the lighting a little bit so that it wouldn’t be as dark. The goal was to not make the pictures to dark or too bright just in the middle.
How well do your final images reflect the differences or similarities? i think that you can see the differences in my final pictures it pretty obvious.
What could you have done to make sure that the viewer gets the differences without being explicitly told? I tried to take picture that very similar in a way but that weren’t exactly the same. By doing that you should be able to tell the similarities and differences.
What did you learn about the art of taking pictures as a result of working on this project? I learned about a new type of photo that you can take I didn’t know about this one. I never knew that you could use two pictures and put them side by side and somehow not take the same picture but that have something that makes them similar.
Do you think your photos tell a good story? I’m not sure. I feel like mine is like in between telling a story and just being a regular picture. I think that it just depends on the way you look at them.
What would you do differently if you could do it all again?
I’n not exactly sure of what I would change but I know i’m behind in work but other then that i’m ok. What would you do differently if you could do it all again?
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of how i was able to learn the work and finish it. I also like how they came out because it took a while to think of an idea.
